Mechatronics

The Manukau Centre for Mechatronics is a purpose-built facility that provides a collaborative link between education and industry.  Education in Automation and Robotics is provided towards the Bachelor of Engineering Technology Degree in Mechatronics.  Short Courses relevant to automation and robotics are provided for Industry.  There are scheduled courses (see dates below) and in addition, customised courses can be arranged.  Student projects are supervised linking students with local industry.

Located in East Tamaki, close to many manufacturing companies in the Manukau region, the centre hosts a range of modern mechanical, electrical, computer and electronic equipment.  As well as introducing new mechatronics concepts to your staff, the centre's facilities include:

  • A modular production system for training in mechatronics
  • A range of industrial robots
  • A training room with ten workspaces equipped with PLCs, touch screens, variable speed drives, computers and specialised software.
