New Zealand Boatmaster - 943.315

Duration

Five Days (Block)

Who Should Attend

The minimum age set by Coastguard to attend this course is 15 years, however students must be 16 years to enrol on an MIT course. Students younger than 16 must provide a letter from their school principal stating that the course is to be undertaken outside of school hours before their enrolment will be accepted.

This is the premier boating course available in New Zealand for inshore boating. The qualification has a well-deserved reputation and is recognised by many insurance companies and charter operators. More importantly, this qualification is evidence that you possess the knowledge to be a safe skipper.

Candidates with evidence of 100 hours seatime may have their Boatmaster Certificate endorsed to show this practical competence.

The New Zealand Maritime School strongly recommends that anyone who goes boating should be working toward this qualification. All skippers and crew will benefit from the additional confidence gained through attending this course.
