Who Should Attend

This course is a must for people working in establishments which dispense alcoholic beverages, and for those who want to apply for a Manager's Certificate issued by local councils.

Participants need to be over 18 years of age (legal age for employment within this industry).

Participants must be able to demonstrate competence in written English to successfully complete the assessment for this course.

  • The effect and impact of the Sale of Liquor Act
  • Study of licences and requirements
  • Server intervention
  • Host responsibility
  • Recognition of intoxication
  • Legislation regarding implementation of the Act.

Certification
  • HSI Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ). This can be achieved by completion and submission of the prescribed application form along with evidence of successful completion of the units of learning.
  • Recognition of the relevant NZQA unit standards that were introduced and assessed
  • MIT Certificate of Attendance.

4646 - Demonstrate knowledge of the Sale of Liquor Act.
16705 - Demonstrate knowledge of Host Responsibility Practices
